Everyobody deserves a supportive and safe environment when learning to swim.
Delta Diving provides top-quality water safety instruction to everyone, in particular members of communities who may not traditionally have safe access to water or instruction, to spark a lifelong love for water and grow a generation of aquatic advocates.

Swim Lessons
Whatever your age, whatever your skill level, our instructors will meet you where you’re at and boost your safety, skill, and confidence in the water. Private and small group options available; secondary supervision provided.
First Aid & CPR Training
Do you know how to take care of your community in a medical emergency? From scraped knees, to burns, to cardiac arrest — we’ll help you feel prepared to care for yourself and others.
Mermaid Lessons
Already comfortable in the water but want to dive to new depths? Whether you’re part of our world or want to be, we’ll teach you about the magic, the mechanics, and (of course) how to keep yourself and your buddy safe.
Consulting
If you’re in the aquatics industry and looking to improve your safety or teaching practices, consult with us to grow your enterprise. Come with specific questions or general vibes - and we’ll work together to find solutions that work for you.
Pricing
Delta Diving is committed to the idea that everyone deserves access to safe interactions with water. In order to facilitate that accessibility, and keeping in mind that times are financially tough for many of us, we are proud to offer all of our services on a sliding scale. Those scales can be found on the pages specific to each type of service offered.
If our scale is still out of reach for you, please reach out to see if maybe a trade for goods and services can be established. These trades are not guaranteed and will be set up on a case by case basis.
Meet your Instructors
Cecíl has always been a water person, and always wanted to know how to respond in case of emergency. They took their first SCUBA course the same summer they took their inaugural First Aid course, as a fresh ten year old. Cecíl was swimming before they were walking, and grew up sailing with their dad on Hannon and New Freedom between trips to the pool and beach with their mom.
Growing up in New York City, Cecíl saw from a young age the intersectional inequalities that different kinds of people face, and strives to diligently ameliorate wherever they go - from the garden to the bottom of your nearest pool.
What is diligent amelioration?
It’s how Cecíl moves through the world: with careful and consistent hard work/effort (diligence), to change things for the better (amelioration). By extension, Delta Diving’s goal is to diligently ameliorate aquatics and safety education!
Having begun their career in Aquatics in 2016 as a lifeguard and swim instructor at their local YMCA, Cecíl went on to guard and teach in a number of different places - from the Y, to college and community pools, to Disney World resorts, to your backyard pool. They have experience teaching students aged 6 months and up, with a special skill for easing anxious, fearful, and neurodivergent students into a newfound passion for the water. Cecíl loves getting silly and playing games with kids, so they are learning before they even realize it!

Chief Ameliorator, Lead Instructor
As a PhD student in education with nine years of experience in both community and classroom education, Casper specializes in pedagogy and curriculum development for non-traditional learning environments. This experience makes him uniquely qualified to work with Cecíl to hold meaningful spaces for students to learn critical safety skills that not only impart those skills, but also contextualize them within students' lives and begin their life-long relationships of curiosity with the water.
It is important for both Casper and Cecil to be able to offer quality education, connection, and crucial safety skills to communities that they know from experience are underserved (and often feel unsafe) in traditional class offerings - namely, lifeguarding, CPR/First Aid training, and swim lessons.
